Oh, is that how it is?!
Under the motto of "Oh, is that how it is?!" Martina Schradi collects stories about the lifestyles and experiences of LGBTI* - lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersex people - and draws biographical comic reports from them.
By means of the comics, she would like to invite all those interested to look around the world of LGBTI*, to make their way of life, experiences and everything that moves them visible and comprehensible - whilst completely refraining from using any common clichés! The main question addressed here is: What difficulties do people experience when they live a sexual orientation or gender identity that does not correspond to the majority?
The exhibition consists of 27 colour posters in DIN A3 on 160 gr paper including 18 comic stories, 2 glossary posters and 1 info poster.
We provide the exhibition free of charge.

Historical posters on 8 March and women's suffrage

The exhibition shows reprints of historical posters that address International Women's Day and women's suffrage. 27 boards of posters covering the historical period from 1906 to the present have been compiled. What is exciting and interesting, as demonstrated well here, is how a historically constantly changing image of women is deployed and used in the respective context. The exhibition is a wonderful visual textbook demonstrating the use of clichés and role models from the beginning of the 20th century to the present.  It is also interesting to note the different use of the images in the two German states after the war, in which the instrumentalisation of the politically chosen images of women and their context can be clearly seen.

Overall, by accessing the changing image of women, the exhibition provides a good introduction to the discussion and evaluation of the historical processes and updates that are currently politically required of the significance of these two women's historical focal points for the realities of life in our society, also and especially for women.

The exhibition is rounded off by means of a reader containing an accompanying text on the aim and message, and in which the individual posters with their historical and design background are discussed.
